[...] Another season of Survivor, my favorite television show, has run its course. In a surprise to me and most of the fans of the show, the conniving and brilliant tactician Russell Hantz won everything but the game, being defeated in a lopsided vote to Natalie White (link). I guess that Survivor can be like chess, in that you can be a brilliant tactician, but if your strategy is flawed then even being up in material and position, you can still be mated. For more about my strange obsession with this show, I refer you to my last post with the topic here.
Great pop-academic destruction of Survivor. Not really a fan--haven't seen for years, but now much more intrigued and impressed, unless you are a victim of that long-standing trend of finding much more of substance in pop culture than truly exists--a great foible of mine! Anyway, didn't know about the cannibalism. Any chance to see a real life Alive or Donner Party in the flesh (as it were, with a side of fava beans) is worth exploring. Thanks for the entre.

Thank you for appreciating my strange obsession. I've often thought that I should add "encyclopedic knowledge of all things Survivor" to my C.V..

I've been waiting for this one!
You state that your article is a digression from the free swatches. Hardly! The swatches are a small part of an encompassing understanding and respect for Survivor that is staggering. And obsessive.
I hope that you've posted the article on Survivor message boards?
Great work!
