Lake City Murals

I love walking around and taking pictures of what ever peaks my interest. On a recent walk I grabbed a couple of shots of these love able goofy murals on the restrooms at the Meadowbrook Playground near Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Washington’s Lake City Neighborhood.

I am not sure but it seems to me that these are some sort of project in the early 80’s or late 70’s created the students of art department of Nathan Hale… The age of Led Zeppelin and the rise of Dungeons and Dragons. It really looks like stuff that usually adorns trapper keepers and notebooks, but luckily some teacher let the whims of his students decorate this space.  I wish I knew that was the story for sure, but it seems as good a guess as any. If you know anything about their history drop me a comment.
