Free Halftone Tree Vector Graphics
I haven’t posted a freebie for a while, so I thought I’d share one. This week some mid-century styled halftone tree vector graphics. I made them in illustrator using gradients and the color halftone filter. You can get some pretty cool halftones that way.
Free for use on personal and commercial. If you use them just give me a quick shout out.
Download the vector halftone trees here.
Friday Freebie: Retro Mic Vector Graphic
For today’s Friday Freebie, an old school retro mic vector graphic. Lovingly crafted from an old magazine ad with Adobe Illustrator.

Speaking of mics… take a page from the Beastie Boys and pass the mic!
Friday Freebie: Illustrator Cocktail Glass
New Years is just a couple of days away, what better way to celebrate that with a free drink! Or rather a free Adobe Illustrator vector cocktail class. Remember, if you’re designing, don’t drink and if you’re drinking, don’t design.
Download the cocktail glass here.
Free to use for personal or commercial projects. Just give me a shout out if you do.
Friday Freebie: Christmas Tree Vector Scribbles

Friday Freebie: Sketchy Imact

Friday Freebie: Barking up the Right Tree
It’s Friday, so that means it’s time for my Friday freebie. This week a small collection of bark textures and one photo of some imposing conifers. So naturally I call this “barking up the right tree.” Corny I know, but as Walt Disney once told a reporter “We’re selling corn, and I like corn.” Well, I like corn too and I also like freebies, textures and bark. Hopefully you do to.
These images can be used on any projects commercial or personal. Just drop me a line and let me know how you used them.
Friday Freebie: Vintage Hawaiian Map Wallpaper
Feeling the Aloha Spirit today, so I thought I’d pass along a little desktop wallpaper I created. I made it by mashing up a couple of images from a 1950’s United Airlines promotional brochure of Hawaii. Very mid-century modern. Mahalo!
Speaking of the Islands, I saw this again today, the late great Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Chokes me up every time. Rest in Peace IZ.
Freebie Abstract Desktop Wall Paper
Another freebie. I was playing with photoshop layer effects, filters and blending levels. This was pure digital exploration for the ocean. Add a little help from photoxpress.com with a decent looking sky and I think it tied it together.
I found the results very pleasing, if a bit mysterious. To geek out just a bit, I think it turned out to look a bit like the ocean after the island in LOST disappeared or some technicolor Atlantis after the Gods enacted revenge for their hubris.
Happy Groundhogs Day!
Happy Groundhogs Day! Looks like we’ll have an early spring, if superstitions be believed. In honor of that I’d like to offer a little graphical goodie! You can download my Free Twitter Backgrounds for Illustrator and Photoshop.
These free templates for your own use, pass along the link if you like them. The templates for Photoshop and Illustrator with guides and are in the three most common browser sizes (800x600, 1024x768 & 1280x1024), though the 800x600 might be a bit useless, but you might as well have the complete set. These were created in the CS3, if anyone is interested I can save down the Illustrator version to an earlier version.
By the way, you can follow me on Twitter.
T.S.A. W.T.F. for Adobe Illustrator
I’ll probably end up on some list some where for this, but there you go. I saw this great post on boing boing about the recent hubbub over frisky and overly aggressive TSA screening procedures. I loved the photo of the TSA WTF sign contributed to the BB Flickr pool by Sam Ley, (view the full “making of” set here) and thought I’d try to duplicate it in Illustrator and share it for my Friday freebie. Download the TSA WTF in .eps, .ai, .jpg & .png. Enjoy tweaking the man.
