Holiday lights are bright downtown
I was digging through some old pictures and found a few worth sharing. I enjoy shooting at night in Seattle, the clouds, lights and puddles combine to make quite a tapestry of motion and beauty. Last Christmas the family went downtown for our annual traditions, checking out the sights and the holiday lights. The lights were really special this year, so I had to try to capture their beauty with my old Nikon.
I was experimenting a little with taking longer exposures. I didn’t have my tripod handy and was watching over my children, so I had to DIY a stable platform as much as I could. That is leaning against light poles! Next Christmas, I’ll have to drag the tripod down so I can get them a bit crisper. Though I do like the imperfections, grain and slight wiggle, it gives it that more organic feel.
