New Video: An Indifferent Ocean
Here’s my latest little video I’ve posted to YouTube. “An Indifferent Ocean.” Looking at the futility of the universe with a beautiful moonlight Ocean.
The script:
The moon floats so perfectly in the sky, its silver light spilling across the water, turning the waves into liquid glass. So comforting, so beautiful. And yet all I can think about is how small I am. How small we all are. This ocean has swallowed empires. Forgotten names, erased whole lives like they were never even here. The tide pulls in. The tide pulls out indifferent eternal. That moon glowing so serenely. Has watched the rise and fall of everything we know. Billions be born, live and die. Their dreams, their fears, their love’s gone. Like ceaseless waves on a moonlit sea. And one day it’ll watch me disappear too. What am I, what are we? What are any of us against this vast, endless blackness, a flicker, a whisper, a moment. And when I’m gone. When you’re gone. When we are gone. The moon will still be there. Shining just as brightly over an ocean that never even noticed.
