Buhler Motor Company Ghost Sign

Spotted this great ghost sign in Port Townsend Washington. A cool hand painted sign for the Buhler Motor Company. The building that this adorns is currently the very appropriate Bergstrom’s Antique & Classic Autos. A really fun car focused antique store.

According to the Jefferson County Historical Society:

Previously on this site stood the Starrett Mortuary.
Ground was broken for the service station February 20, 1941. W.J. Buhler was head of the firm of Buhler Motor Company who had a showroom and garage across the street and next door to the service station site. He created from an alleyway between two buildings sometime around 1900. The building has been operated by a variety of different businesses over the years.
