Hedonic Treadmill

The Hedonic Treadmill is an idea in physiology and philosopy that observes how people tend to return to the same levels of happiness despite positive and negative events. In some ways you can see it as always seeking short-term pleasure and enjoyment vs Eudaimonic Happiness which is happiness derived from meaning and purpose, which is a higher goal. I saw this fun 3D Rotating Path tutorial from Soundduck Films it seemed the perfect expression of the Hedonic Treadmill. Here is a great article on the difference by Jamie Ryder.
