Nerd Writer: The Most Disturbing Painting
I have been a huge fan of the amazing work of the vlogger Nerd Writer (Evan Puschak) for quite a while. His episode on Francisco Goya’s Saturn Saturn Devouring His Son has to be one of his best. It is a look at Goya’s bleak and haunting black paintings and their probable influences.
I’ve known the painting for a while, but realizing that Goya painted it on the wall of his dining room and that he didn’t intend for anyone to see them is really interesting, if almost creepy. This is a great video and well worth your time. Perfect to get into a dark and introspective mood for the upcoming winter.
