Some Minoru Yamasaki Buildings

I admire the brilliant work of Seattle born architect Minoru Yamasaki. His work exemplified mid-century corporate modernism, one can like or hate that, but it was always exquisitely crafted. The following are several examples of his work in Seattle.

The Seattle Times recently wrote a fascinating retrospective on the life and legacy of Yamasaki, it is well worth reading. It is really unfortunate that the work of Minoru Yamasaki will forever be tied to the tragedy of 9/11, and often will be left as a footnote, being the architect of the World Trade Center, overshadowing his actual work. But we can do our best to remind people that there is more to his work than just those buildings.
